The Diocese has asked that we Urge Congress to Support Equity in the Stimulus Package...
The House and Senate will soon take up a massive economic stimulus package that is expected to include a substantial component relating to PK-12 education. At a time when so many religious and independent schools are feeling the effects of the economic downturn, CAPE has urged Congress to include private schools in the package. There are many reasons and precedents for doing so. We present the case here.

Please encourage Congress to provide equitable benefits to students and teachers in private schools in the stimulus plan. You can do so easily and quickly by visiting CAPE's Legislative Action Center. And be sure to urge friends, families, and members of your community to do the same.

Thank you for your help with this important issue.

Student Ministry Team

As we Celebrate Service during Catholic School's Week, Jan 25-30th, the Student Ministry Team has planned service opportunities for the community to participate in. Included is a trip to Hine's Memorial Hospital to visit with veterans, People's Resource Center, Marklund Home in Bloomingdale, making blankets for Hospice patients, and cookie baking with our neighbors from Marian Park. In addition, we will have a bake sale to benefit hungry children in the US and collect travel size toiletries for the homeless. Please encourage your child to participate and save those travel size toiletries for the Catholic School's Week collection.
