Thank you for Supporting our Troops

Great respect and appreciation goes out to all who donated and participated in the Operation Support Our Troops supply drive.  In just seven short days we managed to collect 1,167 pounds of supplies! If you consider that some of the weight was comprised of Pringles and toilet paper that is truly amazing.  Once again, St. Francis students, faculty and staff have proven why this is a place of great compassion and charity.  The Social Studies Department extends a heartfelt thank you for the great respect and honor that was shown by the St. Francis community throughout the Veterans Day activities.  God Bless our troops and God Bless America.

St. Francis High School Awarded Grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation

"The Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation has approved a grant of $65,180.00 for Solar Photovoltaic, Wind and Solar Thermal Installations in our Certified Science and Learning Center addition, i.e., "West Wing".  The project will involve building integrated design and engineering for photovoltaic, wind and solar thermal systems. The mission of our school continues in our endeavor to be stewards of our environment. Thus, we strive to achieve net zero with our energy consumption and use these renewable energy systems as an educational model by employing them as a necessary resource for teaching our students and community the principles of environmental stewardship."

From the Guidance Office

On Wednesday, December 9, parents of students who took the PSAT test in October may obtain the results of their sons' and daughters' tests by attending the parent information program at 6:30 PM in the Kuhn Cultural Arts Center.  The program will interpret PSAT test scores and will also include information on the ACT/SAT tests and on the benefits of test prep programs. Mrs. Rigney will also meet with students in their English classes to provide test score information and interpretation directly to students.

Easy Ways that you can Support St. Francis

Target
We've discovered a terrific way to raise funds for our school. It's super-easy, and all you have to do is use your Target® Visa® or Target® Card. We will receive a percentage of the amount of each purchase in the form of a cash donation from Target through the Take Charge of Education® program. It's easy. Just visit target.com/tcoe, or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school. So if you're going to Target anyway, please consider using your Target® Visa® or Target® Card. Big thanks to those who are already doing their part to make a great school even better. Grandparents, alumni, neighbors and friends can take part, too.

Last year Target donated $2,740.33 back to St. Francis.

Last year eScrip donated $297.66 back to St. Francis

Good Search
What if St Francis High School earned a donation every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause? Well, now it can!

GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up!

GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 30 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause! Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every time you place an order, you'll be supporting your favorite cause.

And if you download the GoodSearch - St Francis High School toolbar, our cause will earn money every time you shop and search online - even if you forget to go to GoodShop or GoodSearch first! Add the St Francis High School toolbar at http://www.goodsearch.com/toolbar/st-francis-high-school-wheaton
