and directed by Mr. Jim Wall opens on Friday,

Mort McNulty, a die hard practical joker, who

he can hear what people will say about him after
he's dead. He drags his poor wife Tricia
into this joke and all kinds of interesting people
show up in person as well as those driving thru
the funeral parlor's newly installed (and not
quite fully operational yet) Drive Thru Video.

Mock Elections at
St.
Francis! Students
will have the opportunity to be a part of the
election process right at St. Francis! On
Monday, November 3rd, students will have the
ability to go online all day long and vote for one
of the two Presidential candidates, John McCain or
Barack Obama. Results of this election will
be announced on the real election day! The
social studies department has worked to campaign
equally for both candidates around the school.
Students will see their classmates' campaign
posters hanging from the windows of the
social studies classrooms and in the cafe to help
them choose the right candidate for them. We
will use the computerized program EduBallot for
fast and accurate results - it should be
quite an historic
event! |
St. Francis Commemorative
Bookplate
Design Competition
On Friday, October 24th, the St. Francis
Library launched its yearly Senior Bookplate
Design Competition which invites all seniors to
design an original bookplate. The theme for this
year's competition is St.FrancisHigh School: Where
Everyone Knows Your Name. The winning entry will
incorporate this theme into a design that typifies
and identifies the unique qualities and
characteristics of the Class of 2009.
The winner of the competition is
selected by a panel, comprised of representatives
from our school, business and civic communities,
who will judge each entry and select the top three
designs. The first place design is
reproduced and placed in each book donated during
the 2008-2009 school year as part of our Annual
Book Donation Program. The first place
winner is also awarded a $100.00 savings bond and
their original design is framed and displayed in
the library. Second and third place winners are
recognized with gift cards to the bookstore of
their choice. For more information
and an entry form, seniors should see Mrs. Rath in
the Library. Entry forms are also available from
Mrs. Holinger, Mrs. Doane and Senior Homeroom
teachers. Contest winners will be announced
Tuesday, November
25th. |
